Crystal & Courtney are both Texas registered nurses and the founders of Perky. Fun Fact: C&C graduated nursing school together at the University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio. Crystal was born and raised in the Alamo City, is a mother of three (2 boys and 1 girl), and has been married to her best friend for 11 years. Courtney was born in Austin, TX and grew up in Katy, TX. She has been married to her husband for 4 years, has a 4 year old little boy and another on the way! They are so obsessed with giving survivors the best nipple tattoo experience, sometimes they even dream of nipples!
From idea to life.
The idea of Perky, a place catered to the breast cancer community, came to be during the pandemic. Both wanted to be able to help the breast cancer community in their own ways, with no limitations being placed on them. Additionally, they wanted to work in an environment that never lost sight of WHY they do what they do. Once they joined forces, with help from an all female dream team, Perky came to life!
Inspired.
Crystal’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer right before her 45th birthday. “I remember hearing the word “cancer” and immediately having a fear that I would soon lose my mother to this disease,” shares Perky’s founder. “I recall taking a long shower and just balling in private. I had to let my emotions out, that way I could be strong in front of her. If I was so afraid, I could only imagine how she must of felt. The things I admire most about my mother are her strong faith, will to live and self advocacy. She immediately started to research all her options and knew what she wanted to do for her body. She is now a 13 year survivor. Breast cancer runs deep in my family and my loved ones are my daily reminder of why I do what I do.”

Since the launch of Perky, we have strongly desired to have our very own blog; a platform that allows us to communicate directly to you. Topics to expect: breast cancer education, wellness advice and of course, some really great nipple tattoos. You will even have the pleasure of reading stories shared straight from some of our Perky clients. Whether in the Perky office, on our social media pages or here within this blog, we want each of you to feel comfortable, welcomed and understood. No matter where you are in your breast cancer journey, Perky is here for you.
